I need a crochet pattern to make an OU afghan/Throw?

Question: I AM LOOKING FOR A PATTERN TO CROCHET AN OKLAHOMA SOONERS AFGHAN/THROW. ANYONE KNOW WHERE I MIGHT FIND ONE? THANKS Thanks. Your information was VERY helpful.

Answer: This is what I would do, since I could not find one specifically for the Sooners. I went to the OU website, and copied a picture of the OU logo, which, good news, is pretty simple. Then go to a site that has graph paper specific to crochet stitches. JPfun is one such site, below. print out the graph paper, put it back in your printer, and print out the logo. Now you have a graph to work from. Using a basic crochet stitch, double or half double crochet, and white yarn, begin your basic afghan. Use the chart to show you when to change colors to the red. You may need to plan it out, decide if you want to add any additional patterns, like a football or basketball, etc, and draw it out, so you can plot where to put your patterns. In order to figure out how much yarn you need, look at a plain afghan pattern, and estimate from there. probably one quarter in the red, or perhaps one third, and the rest in white. I also including a link for an article on how to create your afghan. Since it will be one of a kind, it will be an extra special treasure!
